Project Architect / Director
Mark Savin joined mltarchitects in 2004 as a project architect and was a valuable addition to the diverse and rich experience offered by the company.
Whilst proud of all projects he has been involved in, Mark’s professional interests and specialist areas of work involve the delivery of projects in both the public and private sectors with an intrinsic commitment to sustainable design and green architecture addressing sustainability holistically, including education, hotel design, sport and leisure, commercial and retail sectors, private one off houses and affordable housing.
He is also keen on exploring and developing modern methods of construction and promotion of sustainable materials and enjoys the challenge of entering design competitions.
Mark graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2001,and subsequently worked in architectural practices in Hertfordshire and London working on design concepts for Sainsbury’s, predominantly delivering small store formats and standard store designs. He was influential in both the design and corporate branding of both central and local concepts. His commercial experience extended to working on major BAA projects at Heathrow and Gatwick also.
Having started at MLT as a Project Architect, he was invited to join the board as a Director in 2006. Last year becoming one of the majority shareholders at the age of just 31 years old.
His passion for architecture shines through and it is something he has aspired to be involved with from an early age. He recalls: “From the moment I saw my first Lego set, there was nothing else I wanted to do than design and build buildings and environments for people to enjoy.”
